After several days of just LC and I over the weekend...we were both thrilled when DW made it back home from his hunting trip with his college buddies. I'm glad he got to go but we missed him. LC, in particular, was so happy to see him and I'm pretty sure the feeling was mutual.
In fact, she followed him everywhere he went...making sure he didn't get too far out of sight.
Once he got a few minutes to settle in, we agreed that a little quality time as a family was in order so we made our first trip as a family to the park near our house. LC gave me this grin when I asked her if she wanted to "go". She's starting to associate that word with leaving the house and both of us are always happy for a change of scenery.
As soon as we got to the park, she hit a walkup ramp wide open but quickly realized that, with the incline, crawling was much more effective.
DW and I decided to encourage her to go ahead and stand up..."You can do it! Stand up, baby!" I think her skepticism is pretty evident but she was willing to try...
The perfect squat form...the trainer in me is so proud.
Are you guys really sure about this?

| She actually said, "Whoa." |
First solo flight on the ramp...
The crash landing...
And...the glare. Clearly she felt like we gave bad advice about the walking.
After a while, she got it down and walked up and down that thing about 4 million times. On one of the repeats, DW walked up near her and she noticed him and reached out. Who me? he says...and leans down to get in a little closer.
LC takes this opportunity to plant a quick kiss on him before resuming her activities. Meanwhile, my heart explodeth.
DW also spent some time helping her go down the slide...
Once she got a feel for it, she pulled her hands away clearly letting us know she was ready to attempt it by herself. Out pops the trademark tongue, which is highly effective for extra concentration powers apparently. I'm pretty sure after several slides down, every head on her head was standing on end.
We spent some time swinging...
LC isn't a super fan of heights or moving fast so she was clinging for dear life and had her body pressed back on me and close as she could...but she finally started liking it...
These two don't look alike or anything. Nope, not one bit.
DW baited her into playing some hide and go seek...
And the best part is that we just got to run our little hearts out...
Gah. Love. this. face. THIS picture captures LC's personality to perfection. Catch me if you can...
Later, someone suddenly decided to get really brave and start climbing...
...good thing she has a sweet Daddy nearby to get her all settled in for the drive.
The kid park is near a dog park and LC loved it when people walked their dogs by...
And before we left, we made sure to work on our upper body conditioning moves as well. Working on our fidness and all that. Sure looks like LC was concentrating on her form...with Coach/Daddy on the assist.
It must have been a really good (and tiring) day for LC because not only did she take a long nap, I actually had to wake her up from it so we didn't start creeping into our bedtime sleep. Miracles do happen! Please forgive the pic overload... :-)

I LOVE seeing you as a mom!
Fantastic pics! Love the one if you on the swing with her. This is what it's all about, isn't it?! :)
LOVE these pics! Elyse encountered her first "slope" the other day when she simply walking down the driveway! It caught her by surprise, but she figured it out!
I can't wait until it's warm enough for us to take Elyse to the park...she's going to love it just like LC does!
Looks like fun! So jealous of the warm weather you're having!
Oh my gosh, this looks like so much fun!! It is crazy how much she looks like both of you!! She is a mover that girl, good thing her parents are super fit humans!

Ah, daddy's little girl. So sweet.
What a fun, fun day!!! Your little family is so cute! She really looks so much like both of you...how amazing!
Love that you said LC and DW look alike. A few pictures before I thought, oh my goodness she looks just like her daddy in that pic, wonder if Amy would be freaked out if I said that. They really do look so much alike, don't you love the little God details like that! My son acts a lot like my husband and I just have to shake my head and laugh.
I loved this post! Those are the kinds of days that I lie in bed after and just say "thank you. thank you. thank you." God is good.
Ummmmmm hello?! How cute are YOU on that swing? I usually hit up the park in a hoodie and dirty yoga pants. BTDubs... Loving your hair color right now. Love.
